To whore or not to whore- The Fishnet Top

All Personal Style
With the weather being 20°C this week, all I want is to remove as many layers as possible, from my white as cheese unsuspecting skin. The problem is, you can take off only so many layers, before starting to look like a skanky ol’burrito. I figured, I could achieve the golden middle, by wearing my new fishnet top.

I found this top during one of my usual thrift hunts and immediately snatched it. Fishnets may be generally, sliiiiiiightly whorish, but I think that with a bit of tweaking and mixing, it can become a very subtle complementary piece. I styled mine with some second hand high-waist denim shorts, thrifted booties and the necklace, and bracelet from Bornpretty
How was your weekend fish sticks? My Saturdays and Sundays are evaporating like a drop of water on a hot boob. Why is this freakin week so long! Oh, and I just found out that we have a new second hand store, right around the corner…Damnt it, when will this torment end!!!
Stupid wind is messing up my hair man!

Thank you all for your awesome suggestions on my last post! I’m even more confused than before, but you’ve been of great help nonetheless. ^_^ I think I might start doing some Monthly favorites, with a little bit of Japanese and cats involved!

  1. Love the top, it reminds of the eighties when people loves colorful fishnet stuff 😀 ! I dun think that fishnet looks specially skanky, it's just some old story about hookers who wore fishnet stockings or something that some old sailors keep telling 😀

  2. You total rock the eighties look. I should know, cause I actually lived it! The boots make the fishnets un-whorish and if you don't stand around under street lights downtown at midnight, you won't be mistaken for a hooker. I love to live vicariously through your young and vibrant style. It suits you so well. I am very envious of 20 degrees. We have ten degrees and bright sunshine here. That's actually pretty good for late winter, verging on spring but I can't wait for it to get to 20!

  3. +20 degrees? are you kidding me? I want +20 too! but we are SO far from that. so so far. gosh you're lucky! 😀 okay, your outfit is colourful and very "you" (obviously). I tend to highly dislike fishnet clothes but you make it work and I like it on you. looks great with the necklace too!

  4. Katerina this not at all whoreish (hehe!!!) but rather very, very funky and all the colour and texture going on is spot on. I love all the individual touches that make the outfit very "you"… been following a while, sorry this may be my first comment! I took my time 😉

  6. I think you look really good in that fishnet top. It's one of those items that can look really modern and sporty or a little bit kid emo. It really works for you, especially with that necklace. Just discovered your blog today and really enjoying looking back through your past posts. You have such great photos and a beautiful smile.

  7. First of all I want to say massive sorry for my not replying to your email but I'm super busy! It's not because what you wrote, just have no time. Pleaaase don't kill meee :DDD I promise I answer as soon as possible <3
You look fantastic, just as always! I'm totally in love with your tights! I hate neons, but it looks so wonderful on you so I start loving it 😀

  8. I understand about the warm weather – white skin debacle. I'm white as a ghost, we're talking that the lightest "ivory" foundation looks dark on my skin, so when the warm weather hits I'm shedding layers with the intent to blind anyone near me. XD

also, LOVE the layering. I love the tights under the shorts — can't wait to break that trend out when the weather FINALLY warms up here.

  9. Haha! While fishnet can look pretty wrong worn in some ways, I think this neon with the black top underneath is just fun and edgy! The necklace was a perfect way to set it off too. The cutoffs are amazing, how do you look so freakin' awesome in denim cutoffs?
And I know, the wind is the ruiner of all photoshoots. I tried to take photos this weekend in a skirt…and it was horridly windy…yes you can imagine how well that went down. haha 🙂
