The boyfriend shirt

All Personal Style
For bazillions reasons which I’m too lazy to write, I’ve always loved men’s clothing more.
The most important reason being, that they are as comfy and friendly as your next door neighbor’s bearded clam.

Despite this creepy infatuation with men’s clothing, I have a love-hate relationship with the boyfriend trend.

I’ve seen so many outfits on girls with their boyfriend’s sweatshirts, jackets, even pants, that I could burst an artery in my eye. And it looks so practical, at the same time a bit masculine, but all in all, extremely stylish (at least I think so).

But when it comes to my boyfriend, well, let’s say he’s twice and a half  larger than me and wearing anything he owns, would be a fashion suicide.

However, this didn’t stop me from thrifting an oversized shirt (probably owned by some really skinny dude) and making it my own.

I believe the boyfriend shirt is one of those basics which are essential to every wardrobe. Yes, you can live without it, but what about all those nights of frivolous sex and self loathing mornings?
Who has the willpower and time to put on a bodycon wtih a hangover?

Anyway, behold the boyfriend pajama shirt! It’s fabulous and unnecessary…just like my life!

  1. I guess I'm lucky my bf is probably only two sizes bigger than me, and he actually wears pink sometimes. So when he gained weight and got taller(late bloomer), I got to keep some of his old clothes.

  2. I have the same problem with the boyfriend trend – what's a girl to do when she and her boyfriend aren't anywhere close in size? Whose clothing am I supposed to borrow?! I guess I'll just have to invest in my own oversize pieces; I do love your striped shirt 🙂

  3. Girl clothes totally can be too tight. And what's with all the weird cutouts on our clothes, too? I don't blame you for liking dude clothes better. Wear whatever you want, I says!

I like looking at oversized mansweaters in thrift stores. I have yet to come across any that are juuuust loose enough to the point where it doesn't make me look like a super hobo, but I'm sure I'll find one soon. >:D

  4. hehehe, fabulous and unnecessary. You always make me giggle.

I find it very hard to wear big masculine pieces. I have a very strong face that lends itself well to making me look like an incredibly attractive drag queen XD I tend to stick with pieces that give away that I'm a chick.

you, on the other hand, look wonderful.

    love,

P.S. It's been a while since I visit your blog and I see that you've changed your banner too! Pretty =)
