Gosh, I wanted to show you this coat so much! I was contemplating taking an Instagram shot of it, but my crappy phone would have ruined the magical moment…
You probably already know I’m not the bragging type of person. In fact, I’m quite the opposite. And when you think about it, considering the vastness of space, the billions of galaxies with billions of stars in them, you start to realize what an insignificant, pathetic speck you are. This is not the case with this coat…I just had the urge to shove it in your faces and shout “Look at me! Look at how awesome I am, this is why mom didn’t have an abortion! So I can dress up and be pretty”. It’s safe to say this coat makes me an obnoxious asshole, but I don’t care.
I have never owned anything that expressed my inner self so much. Something that screams “The world is a cruel and dark place, but I couldn’t give a flying fuck about it, I’m so happy”. This is what this coat is telling you (yes it can talk).
It’s all thanks to the talented team of “Nmenouno”. Girlies who read the blog regularly, would already be familiar with the brand. For the people who actually have social lives and don’t spend 90% of their time on the net, (silly you) I shall give you the tour. Nmenouno are the most interesting, socially responsible and creative brand I’ve come across in my 2 years of blogging. They are based in Italy and produce eco-friendly merchandise of exceptional quality and versatility, all hand sewn in Italy. The reason I’m so excited about this brand, is because even a skeptic like me, can’t think of anything negative to say about them.
So, what really makes “Nmenouno
” so special? Well, this is a tough cookie to crack, because it’s not one thing, but a combination of many things. A combination of attitude, talent, passion and love for what they do. I’m just going to quote a sentence from their About Me
page, which I personally think, summarizes them best, and leave it at that: “For us, life and fashion aren’t about individuals – they are about relationships – with people, with what you make, with the world around us, at the smallest scale and the biggest”…
Don’t you love them already! *_*
What makes their coat even more interesting, is the whole ordeal of making the wool. It’s made from a felted wool, which is created by one of the oldest known fabric making process. The wool is woven, washed in boiling water and then dried. The end result, as you can see, is a textile that is extremely warm, natural, breathable, sustainable and gentle to the skin. But perhaps the greatest quality, comes from the oversized, asymmetric pockets. Anyone sick from wearing outerwear without pockets? I know I am! Finally, I can stash my huge pepper spray where it belongs!
So what do you guys think? Yay, Nay, or “Keit, it’s too early in the morning, leave me drink mah coffee”.
