I want to apologize that I haven’t been very active these days, mostly because I was working on the new design for the blogsie. In case you didn’t notice, we are now one of the fancy people, the jam on the toast, the bur in Burberry, the .com people. Yay! Let me know if you like the new web design, or you despise it. I really need some feedback here people, I have no idea what I am doing! Thank the Lord, WordPress has a fuckton of plugins for literally everything and you just click a button and voila! I bet my SEO stuff is seriously damaged and in fact no one is reading this, but this won’t be the first time I’d be talking to myself so screw that!
Anyways, today’s post is dedicated to the guy who commented on my last post that he wants to cum in my face aaaaand to all of you spring trend lovers! All of them bold colors, glitter, rainbows and crazy hair colors, are only just a handful of this year’s make up trends. Some people may think this is too much, but some people think that Mark Zuckerbeg is human, so….without further ado: New Ins Beauty!
First on the list is the Essence glow like a mermaid highlighter. Hgjblbhlhjkhjk! – This is my reaction, when I first saw it in the store. I couldn’t wait to try it on, especially after being so in love with their highlighter unicorn stick. I practically plastered myself with it today while taking the photos, because the highlighter is not very visible even after applying 3-4 layers.
The consistency is practical, since it’s not very powdery and it doesn’t easily fall off from the face, but other than that, I am not very happy with this products. The promised mermaid effect is not visible at all, but instead you end up with a fairly subtle blusher. I took some shots in dim lighting and under day light, but overall as you can see, the difference is not that drastic.
Shot at night with the lights turned on:
Here you can also see, my absolute favorite new buy – Balmain Color Riche Purple Matte Lipstick from Loreal.
The lipstick is the best thing since pizza ordering. You can decide if you want to go all vamp and apply tons of it on the lips, or if you are not too certain and if you’re like me – a smoker and your teeth are not as pearly – you can opt for the more low-key look. The only downside is that it leaves the lips dry and once you eat your dinner half of the lipstick is left on the broccoli, but the color is so rich that I can delusionally ignore all of its defects.
The shade is a bold purple gradient, and depending on the lightning it looks differently, sometimes darkish, sometimes it glows with a neon reddish, this is more mermaid than the highlighter!
Continuing with the mermaid trend, I also snatched this Holo Rainbow nail polish from Essence. As I’ve mentioned a couple of times, nail polish is my biggest enemy. My hands are shaking too much and I end up with a manicure that is more appropriate for a 7 year old, but nonetheless I wanted to showcase it here, since it’s one of my favorite sparkly nail polishes.
I can imagine this would look better with a solid color underneath, but I decided to try it out as a stand alone and the effect is still breath taking! I love how this sparkles, it can practically pluck out an eyeball, and for now it has lasted two days with me washing the dishes. + 12000 for toughness.
And last on the list, is the DM’s Trend it up metallic eye pencil. This here beauty is super cheap, can’t really remember how much, but I remember it costs less than my lunch at work so this is enough for me!
The pencil is super easy to apply and depending of whether you want a dramatic look or a more lighter shade of blue, this is the pencil for you. It even rhymes, Jesus Keit you’re on fire today!
I opted for a dramatic look and for these shots I also applied a small amount of glitter just to enhance the effect. Really digging this, and will be using it on a daily basis with some bad ass springy dresses <3 <3 <3
Aaaaaand we’re done for today. Let me know what is your favorite spring beauty trend and don’t forget to subscribe! I do this shit weekly, if you want me to stop, you’d have to subscribe again. Muahahahahha ^__^ Arigatou!
